Ukraine has a very ambitious plan. Thus, our state plans to become a full-fledged member of the European Union within the next two years.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmihal announced this. According to him, preliminary negotiations on our country's accession to the EU may take place this year.

We have a very ambitious plan to join the European Union in the next two years. And so we hope that this year, in 2023, we can already have preliminary negotiations,” Shmihal said.
According to the minister, Ukraine also expects a “significant step forward” at the upcoming summit. This concerns the following issues:
- an agreement on a visa-free regime for industrial goods,
- suspension of the duty on Ukrainian exports for another year,
- “active progress ” in joining the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) payment scheme and including Ukraine in the EU mobile roaming area.
By the way, some countries say that Ukraine must meet certain criteria for joining the EU .
“Expectations in Kyiv are quite high, but it is necessary to fulfill all the conditions set by the commission. This is a merit-based process,” one of the EU officials stressed.
