When train ticket sales open:
- If previously it was possible to purchase tickets 45 days before the specified date, now, in order to prevent the work of resellers, you can purchase a ticket 20 days before the trip. They can be purchased at the service or at the box office between 8 and 9 a.m.
- Passengers quite often return tickets, so you can purchase such a travel document 30 minutes after returning it.
- It is worth noting that some tickets can only be purchased online, in particular this applies to the Kyiv-Warsaw train. Moreover, the maximum number of travel documents that one person can purchase — four.
- According to information on the Ukrzaliznytsia website, you can issue a travel document in paper or electronic form 20 days in advance.
- If we are talking about regional trains, as well as electric trains, then you can usually purchase a ticket a maximum of 10 days in advance.
- If you didn’t have time to buy a train ticket, but you need to get to your destination, don’t be upset. It is possible to purchase tickets that are returned by buyers.
Where and when can you buy a train ticket abroad
For example, you can purchase train tickets from Kyiv to Warsaw 20 days before the train departure date. Moreover, the sale of travel tickets starts from 8:00 to 9:00. If you plan to travel on holidays or to popular destinations, it is better to purchase a boarding pass in advance. Be sure to set a reminder on your phone so you don't miss the first day of pre-sale tickets.
The company’s website states that travelers can purchase tickets in several convenient ways:
- at the train station
- on the official website or in the mobile application of Ukrzaliznytsia for Android and iOS
- in the Privatbank application
Some tickets can be purchased in the Diya application, in particular this applies to the train from Kyiv to Warsaw. This service will be available from November 2023. Thanks to the Diya service, you can prove that a person is a real person. You can also return a ticket using this application, but you need to have an electronic signature to do this.
