In the war zone in the East of Ukraine, we can soon expect the activation of heavy equipment from both sides. This can be helped by the frosts that are approaching the territory of Ukraine.
The speaker of the Eastern Group, Sergei Cherevaty, said this on the air of the TV channel. He confirmed that the Russians are still using infantry, because equipment in such weather becomes easy prey for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
APU will try to beat the Russians again
Cherevaty explained that this is also confirmed by the dynamics of Russian losses. In particular, the occupiers have recently lost more manpower than equipment.
They can't use heavy equipment on sticky ground,” he said.
The speaker of the Eastern Group said that when the frost hits and the soil freezes, both sides will have the opportunity to use shock equipment, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers. However, he stressed that it depends on how the soil freezes.
In addition, Cherevaty said that it is important who takes the initiative.
“In previous times, we outplayed the Russians in such staff games and took into account all aspects of the theater of operations better and used any factors as favorable,” he added.
What is the situation at the front
- The most stubborn battles between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Russians continue to be fought in the Bakhmut direction. Only in a day near Bakhmut, the occupiers made 229 clashes and inflicted 259 shelling.
- The Armed Forces of Ukraine hold Bakhmut and inflict significant losses on the invaders. Over the past day, another 189 Russian soldiers were killed there.
- The British Ministry of Defense reports that Ukraine has consolidated its positions at Bakhmut. Consequently, the success of the Russians is unlikely in this direction.
- In addition to Bakhmut, the hot spot in the Donbass is also Avdiivka. The Russians seek to capture the city or encircle it from the South and North.
- On January 3, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the enemy was making attempts to improve the tactical situation in the Limansky and Avdeevsky directions. Russia is also reinforcing groups in the Novopavlovsk direction thanks to units deployed from the Kherson direction.
