Massive missile attacks from Russia have caused power supply problems in a number of areas. Kyiv and the region were no exception, so Ukrenergo decided to temporarily turn off the lights.

Read on to find out where the electricity will be cut off in the Kyiv region and why it is necessary.

As reported by DTEK Kyiv Electric Grids, the company has developed special schedules for alternate power supply. They are applied by order of the transmission system operator Ukrenergo and only in case of emergency cases of imbalance in the power system.

The schedule looks like this:

  • 1 turn – 6:00 – 10:00, 14 :00 – 18:00 and 22:00 – 02:00;
  • 2nd turn – 10:00 – 14:00, 18:00 – 22:00 and 02:00 – 06:00.< /li>

The company explained: if your locality is repeated in several lines – do not worry, this means that the shutdown will affect different streets. At the same time, the duration of the street shutdown will not exceed 4 hours.

In addition, DTEK asked customers not to turn on powerful electrical appliances, including washing machines, boilers, air conditioners, electric kettles during morning and evening consumption peaks. That is:

  • from 7:00 to 11:00,
  • from 17:00 to 22:00.

Earlier, the company said that the power shortage was increasing and, at the request of Ukrenergo, DTEK was forced to increase the number of disconnected customers, so restrictions were applied for both queues.

But already at 00:25, October 12, all clients who were disconnected due to the use of hourly outage schedules were already connected to the network.

After that, on the morning of October 12, DTEK was again forced to limit the power supply to both lines. three lines at once. Oleg Popenko, an expert on housing and communal services, in a commentary to Channel 24, previously noted that rolling blackouts in Ukraine are unlikely to end in the coming days. He also called on all Ukrainians to make water supplies in their homes.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainians need to save electricity. This is necessary after the massive Russian attacks on Ukraine. According to the president, if it were not for the strikes on October 11, they would have resumed power supply, water supply and communications, which the terrorists damaged on October 10.

It should be recalled that Ukrenergo was warned on October 11 that due to massive Russian missile strikes on energy infrastructure in several regions are forced to introduce rolling blackouts.
