It is important to understand that Russia has not declared a single default. It happened, but no one announced anything.
Moscow's silence
The Kremlin will continue to shout that “there is no default”, that they are ready to pay all debts.. In rubles… At the “official rate”. No one wants to receive rubles? They are just all Russophobes there. What more proof of “unprovoked Russophobia” do you need from the whole world?
That is, somewhere they will continue to explain it for a long time.
Against the background of already imposed restrictions and sanctions against Muscovites as such a default won't mean much. And by itself, it won't really change anything.
A default is a default
Although I don't agree with those who write that it “doesn't mean anything”.
There are many individuals and organizations in the world for whom “business is just business”. And they are ready to maintain relations with the most cannibalistic regimes if it is profitable.
But also for those for whom “business is business”, “default is default”. This is a factor that everyone (even immoral businessmen and outright cannibals) will take into account, and this is very important.
