The timing of the de-occupation of Ukraine depends on when the Armed Forces of Ukraine will begin offensive operations in the Kherson direction. To do this, you need to get more weapons from Western partners and improve defense positions.

Igor Romanenko, ex-deputy head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this on the air of the FreeDom TV channel. The military expert noted that only after that Ukraine will be able to start creating a strategic reserve for conducting a counteroffensive operation to liberate the territory from the enemy.

Who is working on the counteroffensive plan

Romanenko noted that the task of the supreme commander in chief to prepare for offensive operations at the operational level in the Kherson direction has already been set. Corresponding plans are being developed not only in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also in the Defense Forces.

The General Staff is developing directly military actions in this direction, and not only. In order to be successful in offensive operations in the Kherson direction, it is necessary to ensure at least successful defensive operations in the eastern operational zone, where the enemy is concentrating and trying to organize a further offensive and capture the Donetsk region, the military expert added.

Ukraine needs more weapons

He noted that Ukraine's readiness to launch a counteroffensive will depend on how quickly and massively deliveries of modern effective weapons from partners from the West will be organized. In his opinion, it is now especially important to strengthen the defense capabilities of Ukraine.

He stressed that rocket attacks on the territory of our state continue, which means that the Americans should be encouraged to provide ever new weapon packages, in particular, longer-range missiles. In addition, in his opinion, the number of HIMARS provided to Ukraine does not yet strategically solve the problem, but only shows the vector where to move on.

“This is the kind of grain that should grow even then will give an effect – at first, at an operational level, which allowed us to resolve issues in the Kharkiv direction and Zaporozhye, and later develop into the fact that we will carry out our defense operation,” Romanenko stressed.

The expert explained what it means to stop the advance the enemy along the entire front, force him to go on the defensive and during this time create a strategic reserve that will be used to carry out a counter-offensive operation to liberate our territory from Russian invaders.

Pay attention. As of On July 14, heavy opposition to the Russian invaders was recorded in the East and South of Ukraine. This is evidenced by the combat map of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
