Violators may also be subject to correctional labor or administrative arrest for 15 days. Not only police officers, but also other representatives of the commandant patrol can issue a fine.

– In case you are met not only by police during a curfew violation, but also by national guardsmen, municipal guards, territorial defense, or other representatives of law enforcement agencies or the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are involved to protect public order during curfew, they can also hold you administratively liable, the lawyer said.

Now the commandant's patrol has the right:

  • detain and deliver violators to National Police units;

What is known about bill No. 10195

Recently, the Verkhovna Rada supported a bill on fines for violating curfew. According to draft law No. 10195, violation of the curfew will entail a fine, which will amount to from five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens.

That is from 8,500 to 17,000 hryvnia. If there is a repeated violation within a year, they will fine the amount twice as much.

But for a corresponding violation by a business, the entrepreneur will have to pay from three thousand to six thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens. This is from 51,000 to 102,000 hryvnia. In case of repeated violation, the fine will also double.

However, according to the lawyer, the deputies never adopted bill No. 10195 in the second reading, so in fact it is not in effect now.

– It is unknown in what form and whether it will be accepted in the future. Perhaps this is good, because this bill has been subject to some criticism. It provides for a fine of 8,500 to 17,000 UAH. That is, this is either half the average salary or the full salary in the country. Taking into account certain circumstances, such as being late from a train, such a sanction is excessive,” Romanchuk said.
