After the unsuccessful rebellion of Yevgeny Prigozhin and his probable death, big changes came to the Wagner PMC. British intelligence stated that these mercenaries were divided into three groups.

British analysts noted that the Kremlin now has more control over the Wagnerites. They confirmed the information about the connection between the Wagner PMC and the Russian Guard.

What happened to the Wagnerites

A British intelligence report dated November 12 states that Wagner PMC is divided into 3 groups. The militants were distributed among different military formations.

The Russian Guard could assimilate most of the Wagner PMCs. After this, the mercenaries began to recruit people again. British intelligence suggests that this new unit within the Russian Guard could be headed by Pavel Prigozhin, the son of Yevgeny Prigozhin.

British intelligence officers believe that other Wagnerites could have been recruited by the Redut PMC, whose total number is about 7,000 people. Doctors from the Wagner PMC became part of Ramzan Kadyrov’s Chechen special unit “Akhmat”. The so-called “head” of Chechnya himself reported at the end of October that 170 Wagnerites had joined.

Prigozhin's son could head Wagner PMC

  • Not long ago, Russian media wrote that Pavel Prigozhin could become the new leader of the Wagnerites after these militants became a unit of the Russian Guard. The only heir of Yevgeny Prigozhin allegedly created a post where he spoke about this, but then deleted it from social networks.
  • After this, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak, in a comment to Channel 24, noted that the real key curator of the Wagnerites is the head of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov. In his opinion, Pavel Prigozhin was given only some assets so that he could earn a little money.
  • International security expert Taras Zhovtenko also responded to rumors about Yevgeny Prigozhin’s son and said that Wagner PMC is no longer what it was before. He suggested that Russia now needs Wagnerites due to the fact that the aggressor country has already run out of a professional army.
