Photos of Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Russian Karelia have appeared online. From them, one can assume that the self-proclaimed president of Belarus has rapidly gained weight.

The opposition publication Zerkalo wrote that this could be related to illnesses that Lukashenko has encountered due to his age. After all, he will turn 70 at the end of August.

What illnesses could Lukashenko have

Earlier, the publication noted that Lukashenko cannot recover from knee surgery and has lost his vision. After all, he often puts on glasses to read the text and the cue cards are written in very large font.

However, journalists note that the only disease that can affect his appearance is type 2 diabetes.

It may happen that a person gains weight precisely as a result of this pathology due to an unadapted nutrition system or lack of proper therapy, the publication noted.

Journalists also stated that Lukashenko's likely diabetes is evidenced by his deteriorating vision and the appearance of his hands in the photographs. However, the publication notes that they cannot draw any conclusions about the health of a specific person based on information from open sources.
