An Italian journalist was wounded in the occupied part of the Kherson region. Russia blames Ukraine for this.
This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security. They noted that propagandists are talking about an accident with Italian journalist Mattia Sorbi.
“The film crew tried to get into occupied Kherson, but the car exploded on a mini: the driver died and the Italian journalist was injured” , – noted in the Center.
Departed without any accompaniment
The occupiers called the explosion on the mini-provocation of the Ukrainian special services. According to the Russians, some unidentified men in uniform escorted Sorbi to the border. However, they allegedly did not report the mined road, because they wanted the Italian to explode and to be able to publicly blame the Russian Army.
The Center for Strategic Communications noted that Sorbi was a military correspondent for the Italian TV channel RAI. Communication with him was lost on 31 August. The journalist went to Nikolaev, and then went towards Kherson. He was refused, because the settlements that the Italians wanted to visit were in the “red zone” due to heavy fighting.
Sorbi moved without any escort: there were no military and even the fixer refused to leave. It is not known why the military commander wanted to cross the line of combat without coordination and at an unspecified location.
Known as a homophobe
It is known that Mattia Sorbi previously worked as a military correspondent for the Zvezda TV channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense. He spread lies about the Donetsk airport in 2014.
We can assume that Sorby had preliminary agreements with the Russian military who occupied Kherson, wrote in Center.
Added that the journalist is known in Italy as a homophobe, an opponent of refugees and a propagandist of dubious ideologies.
