Start of negotiations with the EU
Recall that on December 14, the leaders of the European Union at the summit in Brussels approved the opening of negotiations on accession to the EU with Ukraine and Moldova.
At the same time, at the summit, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban once again insisted that Ukraine allegedly did not fulfill the conditions necessary to begin membership negotiations.
Despite this, during the voting for this decision, Orbán left the hall, which allowed 26 countries to vote for the start of negotiations with Ukraine, while Hungary abstained. Subsequently, a video appeared on Orban’s Facebook page in which he repeated that Ukraine was allegedly not ready to begin negotiations on accession to the EU.
