The United States will never recognize the results of the so-called “elections” in the temporarily occupied territories of our state. This concerns the possible “election” of Vladimir Putin as president of the aggressor country.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller spoke about this during a briefing. He noted that they recognize such Russian elections as illegitimate, reports 24 Channel.

The United States does not recognize Russian elections in the occupied territories

In his statement, Miller strongly condemned Russia's actions in Ukraine. He emphasized the US position against Russia's attempts to undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by rigging elections in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

The State Department spokesman made it clear that the United States does not recognize the legitimacy or the results of the fraudulent presidential elections held by Russia on Ukrainian soil. He confirmed the recognition by the United States of the Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson regions and Crimea as integral parts of Ukraine.

The European Parliament does not recognize the election results in Russia

• Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament David McAllister said that the European Parliament does not recognize the results of the Russian presidential elections, which should take place in March 2024 of the year. According to the MEP, these elections “have nothing to do with democracy.”
• He also emphasized that Russian President Putin is afraid of the “Ukrainian model” of a free and open society. The Member of the European Parliament emphasized that Putin views democracy as a challenge to his leadership.
• It is worth noting that there are currently raids of Russian volunteers from the RDK, the Freedom of Russia Legion and Siberian battalion. Fighters of the Legion “Freedom of Russia”, announcing their raid, said that they were “going” to the elections to free Russians from the terrorist organization that had seized power.
• In addition, one of the representatives of the legion noted that disrupting the elections in the Kursk and Belgorod regions would be a good result for them. Most of all this concerns settlements in the Russian regions bordering Ukraine.
