In the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will finish shooting the combat potential left over from the Soviet Union. Then Ukraine will be forced to switch to NATO standards.

This was announced on Channel 24 by the head of the NGO “Ukraine in NATO” and a member of the Atlantic Council Yuriy Romanyuk. He noted that such a transition would mean a cardinal geopolitical break.

Romanyuk recalled the system of the Warsaw Pact, which included our country in the USSR. According to the document, all signatory states were sharpened to the Soviet standards of the military component.

Historical moment

According to Romanyuk, our defenders are actually completing the shooting of the entire combat potential, which has been preserved from Soviet times and standards not only in our country, but also in warehouses around the world. When it ends, Ukraine will have to switch to what is in the world – the NATO standards system.

Of course, this is a historical moment. We are tearing the umbilical cord with the Soviet Union, which still connects us, but will stop in just a few months, Romanyuk said.

He noted that Ukraine will be able to switch to the new system with confidence, since the allies consider us strategic a partner you can trust with NATO's high-tech weapons. At the same time, after the war, a logical question will certainly arise – adapting Ukraine's entry into the Alliance.

“They will sell us their weapons, give us lend-lease, and so on. At the same time, we will use it against the enemy,” Romanyuk summed up.
