Initially, this information was entered into Excel tables. Now there is an online map, which, unfortunately, is constantly updated due to new arrivals.
We see information about all infrastructure objects almost online. Based on this information, we have developed several plans for the modernization and reconstruction of Ukraine, presented in Lugano. Ukraine Recovery Fund
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine said that this Fund will be created in Ukraine, and all funding for the restoration of the state will be through it. The most important thing that foreign partners liked was the fund's supervisory board, which will control its activities. It will consist of 75% representatives of international partners.
This is what allowed us to show the transparency of the activities of this Fund. It is the Supervisory Board that will elect the management of the Fund and exercise its leadership. We hope that this Fund will begin to work fully by December,” he stressed.
According to Tymoshenko, this does not mean that there will be no resumption until December. There are already agreements with the European Union to allocate funds this year. Ukraine is now ready for any cooperation that will satisfy the partners. In addition, there are funds from the Ukrainian budget for the restoration of the occupied territories.
“True, the country currently lacks funds for restoration. Therefore, it is not proceeding at the pace we all would like. That is why we communicate with international partners, we ask for their help,” said the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Various organizations have joined the Fund
He said that various organizations have joined the Fund. Among them, in particular, is the World Bank. Also this week there will be a meeting with 50 international organizations, where they will receive answers to all questions.
In my opinion, after the presentation there are no more questions. We have shown the transparency of the Fund and the fact that it will be controlled by international partners. This was the most important thing,” Tymoshenko noted.
The amount to be restored will continue to grow
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine noted that in Lugano the amount of 750 billion dollars was reported. However, it will continue to grow.
“Unfortunately, destroyed infrastructure facilities are being added every day. $17 billion is needed to quickly restore critical infrastructure,” he stressed.
Ukrainian companies have already begun restoration of objects
Tymoshenko said some Ukrainian companies have already begun reopening certain facilities, including schools. Foreign companies are also getting in touch. In this sense, the President's initiative that different countries take upon themselves the restoration of certain regions is very correct.
