We need more sanctions and weapons: EU leaders reacted to the strike on Kramatorsk

EU started talking about new sanctions against Russia/getty images

European leaders reacted to the attacks on Kramatorsk – tougher sanctions against the aggressor country are needed.

European Council President Charles Michel stressed that in addition to sanctions against Russia weapons should be provided to Ukraine.

It is horrendous to watch Russia strike one of the main stations used by civilians who are evacuating the region where Russia is stepping up its attack. Action needed: more sanctions against Russia and more weapons, wrote Charles Michel.

Adding that the EU “just approved the 5th package of sanctions against Russia”.

Also condemned the shelling in Kramatorsk High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

I strongly condemn this morning's indiscriminate Russian attack on the railway station in Kramatorsk, which killed dozens of people and left many wounded. This is another attempt to close the escape routes for those who run away from this unjustified war and cause people suffering,” the politician emphasized.

By the way, on April 8, the European Union adopted the next 5th package of sanctions against Russia. It provides for the closure of ports and an embargo on coal.

However, Russia continues its atrocities in Ukraine, and therefore the world must prepare even tougher restrictions against the aggressor and finally provide weapons to Ukrainian defenders.
