Vladimir Zelensky on March 26 delivered a video message at the 20th forum in Doha. The Ukrainian leader said that during the 20th century the world developed a whole system of international structures.
They had to guarantee justice to absolutely every state, Channel 24 reports. Zelensky expressed confidence that everyone present at the forum feels the power and meaning of every word.
At the same time, Ukrainians have not been able to find this justice in the world for 31 days. Ukraine was attacked by Russia, which is 28 times larger. Ukrainians independently defend their country on the battlefield.
Zelensky said he was grateful to the UN General Assembly – to all those states that support resolutions concluded on the principle of justice. At the same time, it is already clear that the UN and all other international structures do not have the necessary internal strength to return basic values to people, and peace to countries.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized that internal justice is not ensured in these structures. The voice of the privileged still drowns out the voice of the majority.
It is injustice that is the basis of what Russia is doing against Ukraine. In particular, the occupying country enjoys its privileges in international organizations.
Russia boasts of nuclear weapons. The world is already discussing at the political level what to do if Russia uses tactical nuclear weapons or weapons of mass destruction.
Zelensky recalled that in the 1990s, Ukraine gave away the third largest nuclear arsenal in the world . The President stressed: This was the largest contribution to global protection from a nuclear catastrophe that has ever been made.
In exchange, Ukraine received written security promises from the world's strongest states. In particular, from Russia. Meanwhile, it was she who attacked. Zelensky stressed that this is the highest manifestation of injustice that could be seen.
Other states have concluded that they also need nuclear weapons to avoid attack. This is very dangerous.
We need a real reform of international institutions, UN mechanisms to guarantee security. So that someone who is 28 times bigger does not think that he can afford anything. And so that the nuclear status of a state does not serve as a license for any injustice against other states,” Zelensky stressed.
