Chernik on the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine/Collage of Channel 24
For a counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to have fairly heavy weapons. However, here you should also choose the right tactics, because the enemy prevails in manpower and weapons. Therefore, the counter-offensive must advance gradually.
Military expert Petr Chernik told Channel 24 about this. In his opinion, the counter-offensive will take place no sooner than at the end of August.
The expert says that one can talk a lot about this, but somewhere in this period of time a sufficient number of weapons should appear, to launch cautious counteroffensives .
“I note that they must be careful. Because large counter-offensives require the creation of an advantage of at least 1 to 3. However, do not forget that there are 146 million of them, and we are only 35. Human resources are not commensurate,” he explained.
Petr Chernik is categorically against a Pyrrhic victory (at a very high price).
“Can we knock them out in a few weeks? We can, but we have to “burn” our entire army. This is unacceptable,” he replied.
For if we knock them out, “burned” our army, then in a few years they will have a new one, but we will have problems with this. Therefore, every step must be weighed very seriously. And in my opinion, the tactics of “small steps” are actually strategically correct, the expert said.
