At the same time, the government has developed and has already partially launched a set of measures to encourage citizens and businesses to become energy sustainable. In particular, we are talking about the following measures:

  • loans for citizens at 0%, up to 480 thousand UAH, for 10 years for the installation of solar, wind installations and electricity storage systems;
  • preferential loans for small and medium-sized businesses. Up to 150 million UAH, for a period of up to 10 years, at 5-7-9% per annum for the installation of gas power generation. In territories bordering the combat zone, the interest rate is reduced to 1-5% for the first two years, and loans for investment purposes from next year can be taken out at 5% per annum;
  • loans for condominiums and housing cooperatives in the amount of up to 5 million UAH. Using these funds, the co-owners of the housing will install solar stations and heat pumps. Then the state, within the framework of the GrіnDіM program, compensates them for 70% of the costs of the project;
  • loans for large businesses for 5-7 years at 14-16% per annum, secured by equipment.

On the last point, Shmygal said that the Cabinet of Ministers, together with the NBU, worked with the banking sector, which is ready to provide such lending.

He also noted that bills on the abolition of duties and VAT on the import of energy equipment have been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. The government expects that all these mechanisms will be fully operational no later than July 25.
