Ukraine has by no means refused to join NATO, as it is written in our Constitution. However, Ukraine plans to create new defense alliances and has already developed its own project from the National Security and Defense Council.
This was told by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov. Earlier, political scientist Mykola Davidyuk spoke about the prospects for a future security treaty for Ukraine.
Ukraine does not abandon NATO
Danilov reminded that NATO membership is a norm of our Constitution. No one will force it to be removed from the Constitution, so Ukraine will not cancel the NATO membership course.
This is the only institution in the world that can give us security guarantees when we become members this institute. There are no others in the world that would guarantee security to our state, – said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
New alliances will be created after the war
He noted that it was repeatedly said that new alliances would be created after the war. Ukraine will not stand aside and will definitely participate in them. In particular, the National Security and Defense Council has developed its own draft of such a future union, which is already under consideration by the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We see how we would like to build such systems so that they are absolutely in favor of our state, its security and development,” Danilov emphasized.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council continued that such unions should include our partners, our neighbors, who understand what democracy is, what a free world is.
Russia is not among them
Danilov added that among there are no such countries in Russia. And he has huge doubts whether he will ever be. Russia and democracy are things that will never intersect. No one can build a democratic system in this country.
As long as it exists within these limits, within these limits. As long as it keeps colonies in the 21st century, that is, a population that has nothing to do with the Russians, democracy is impossible there, – summed up the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
