Tasheva about the reaction of the Crimeans to the explosions near Novofedorovka/Collage of Channel 24
Crimeans with a pro-Ukrainian position, who remained on the territory of the occupied peninsula, were very happy about the explosions at the Russian military airfield near Novofedorovka on August 9.

She assured that she had heard from Ukrainians, who believe in the next de-occupation of Crimea, only positive feedback with comments that such events had been expected for a long time.
Tasheva noted that the Russians had finally seen what was happening every day now on the mainland of Ukraine, against which Russia launched a full-scale war.
How the self-proclaimed “administration of Crimea” reacted
As the representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea explained, the reaction to the explosions and the self-proclaimed “authority” of Crimea, in particular the so-called “driver” Sergei Aksyonov, is no less important. According to Tasheva, he said that Ukraine is not capable of such actions, therefore, in fact, the “claps” at the airfield happened due to the negligence of the Russians. He also said that they would protect Crimea and the people living in the occupied territory, and would also pay any compensation to the victims.
For us, these Russian narratives indicate that their capabilities to protect Crimea are limited, air defense is actually not working,” Tasheva explained.
She noted that during 8 years after the annexation of Crimea, people who supported Russian propaganda or the actions of the invaders against Ukraine were told that they had nothing to fear, because the Russians would protect them. First of all, they appealed that all this time there was no war in Crimea.
“In fact, Crimea has always been drawn into the war, it’s just that then there were completely different dimensions of this war. Now, after the full-scale invasion of Russia, Crimea is even more drawn into the war, and if earlier it was in the rear zone, now it is clear that Crimea has become an arena for the implementation of military activities,” summed up the representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea.
How Ukraine reacted to the explosions in Crimea
- Both ordinary Ukrainians and the governing bodies of our state also joyfully accepted the news of the “cotton” in Crimea. Almost the first to react to them was in the Office of the President of Ukraine. The head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, briefly and ironically remarked that the Ukrainian south is especially beautiful in August.
- Further, the explosions were commented on by the Ministry of Defense. Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar ironically reminded the Russians of the importance of fire safety rules, but she quite seriously emphasized that the fact of a fire could be used by Russia in an information war.
- Trolling about fire safety was also picked up by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Our rescuers turned to the Russian MNS and aptly ridiculed the infidels. In particular, they said that the abyss in the security standards of Russian conspirators is deeper than the length of their dictator's desk.
- Ukrainian Internet users also could not do without humor, so the network exploded with dozens of memes about “cotton” and Russian underpants .
- Meanwhile, Ukrainian businesses have already begun to “reserve seats” on the peninsula to reopen for Ukrainian customers in Ukrainian Crimea.
