Russian invaders continue to try to leave Ukraine without electricity, water and heating. Lviv is ready in case of a complete blackout in the city.
This was stated by the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovoy, on the air of the national telethon. According to him, the strength of the Ukrainian people is in unity.
How Lviv is ready for a possible blackout
According to Sadovyi, now there is half a day in Lviv light and half a day it is not. But enterprises in the city work. The mayor noted that the most important thing is for our country's economy to work.
But that's okay, let's be romantic, by candlelight. We already have 1,000 shelters with stoves, firewood has been stocked there, schools are also equipped with everything necessary. We have a double-triple stock,” said Sadovoy.
The mayor noted that Kyiv is the heart of Ukraine, and Lviv is the soul. Therefore, the people of Lviv will survive in any conditions.
“Our mission is one for all and all for one. Strength is in unity,” Sadovyi added.
Will there be emergency blackouts in Ukraine during the holidays
The day before, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that Russia is not going to stop missile terror and is preparing to continue attacks on the energy system of Ukraine. According to him, everyone is in daily readiness for new massive shelling. This can happen at any time: today, tomorrow, or even on New Year's Eve.
“I want to emphasize that in the absence of shelling, the New Year holidays will pass without emergency shutdowns,” Shmihal stressed.
