Valery Zaluzhny Monday, May 9, said that Ukrainians are again fighting for freedom. Our people are again on the side of good.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published a powerful video on the social network. It draws parallels between the events of World War II and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The video recalls how Hitler announced his encroachments on Poland, and on September 1, 1939, World War II began. Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
Footage of people hiding from bombing during World War II is replaced by similar footage from 2022.
Never again? We're fighting for freedom again. We are back on the side of good. We defeated Nazism. We will defeat rashism as well,” Zaluzhny said.

Zelensky’s address on May 9
Volodymyr Zelensky also addressed the Ukrainians on May 9. The President stressed that Ukraine will defeat the Russian invaders as it defeated the Nazis in World War II.
Zelensky stressed that the war is not between two armies, but between two worldviews. Barbarians attacked Ukraine, firing rockets at the museum of Hryhoriy Skovoroda and they think they can destroy Ukrainian philosophy. However, Ukrainians will not give up either their history or their land.
The President noted that this year, on Victory Day over Nazism, Ukrainians are fighting for a new victory. At the same time, no invader will dominate the Ukrainians. Sooner or later, the brave Ukrainian people always win. Ukrainians will overcome “at least a horde, at least Nazism, at least a mixture of the first and second, what is the current enemy.”
“Our lands were sown with bullets and shells, but not a single enemy could take root here. arrows and rockets, but no one can overshadow our azure. There are no shackles that can bind our free spirit,” the president stressed.
Zelensky promised the Ukrainians that they would soon have two days of victory. And the enemy will have none left. Then Khreshchatyk will see the victory parade – the victory of Ukraine.
