Ukraine demands from the whole world to impose an embargo on the purchase of Russian oil. At the same time, it reminds that those who continue to buy it are committing a war crime.
Oleg Ustenko, adviser to the President of Ukraine, announced this on air on Channel 24. According to him, Ukraine's position on the embargo on the purchase of Russian oil is very clear and they are not going to soften it.
Russia will lose serious income
As Ustenko explained, if the states support this embargo, Russia will begin a period of rapid inflation with a transition to hyperinflation. So the aggressor country simply will not have the money to finance the war against Ukraine.
We understand that we can destroy this rock. This will mean that Russia will lose 40% of its income to the budget, and therefore there will be no money to finance its war machine, the adviser said.
The one who buys Russian oil is a war criminal
As Ustenko noted, the US has already imposed an embargo on the aggressor's oil. At the same time, Ukraine continues negotiations with international partners – primarily European ones – so that they would do the same immediately.
Our logic is simple – they are committing military aggression against Ukraine, which completely falls under the signs of a war crime. And the one who finances war crimes is himself a war criminal, the adviser said.
He stressed that no war criminal who financed war crimes can hide, because he will definitely be found. At the same time, he reminded that such crimes have no statute of limitations.
All vessels with Russian oil are tracked
According to the adviser, a large group of Ukrainian and international experts is currently working in this sector. They track the movement of any tankers that enter Russian ports and fill up with Russian oil.
We know everything: the name of the ship, the name of the captain, what flag the ship is under, how much oil it contains , its cost, to which port it is sent. At the same time, we report this to all international institutions,” Ustenko stressed.
The adviser also said that there are already positive developments. For example, Denmark, which has not yet officially announced an embargo on the purchase of Russian oil and the possibility of its transportation, has already taken a step towards meeting Ukraine.
However, Ustenko also spoke about 2 countries that continue to actively engage in oil business with Russia is Greece and Germany. He added that they have warned the governments of both countries that this is unacceptable.
