President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Ukrainians on Constitution Day and emphasized that our people are fighting for the main constitutional right – the inalienable right to life and independence.

Congratulations on the Constitution Day of Ukraine
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine and Ukrainians are and will always be on earth. This is our goal and common duty for everyone who cannot imagine their life without Ukraine and without whom Ukraine cannot be imagined either.

– We are a state of millions of people. But millions for us have never been and will never be just a human mass. This is a nation consisting of citizens who are able to defend what they believe in and what they strive for. And it is thanks to this that Ukraine exists. Ukraine is millions of names that we are proud of, – President Zelensky noted.
According to the head of state, Ukraine is millions of actions and feats. Our independence, rights and dreams are above all for all Ukrainians.
– And when we talk about this, the words sound powerful. Because these words are not about something abstract, but about specific people, about specific deeds, about a specific path taken. About citizens who fill Ukraine with life – everything, from its Basic Law to every day. These are the people who write the pages of history, – said Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky's Address on Constitution Day: People's Stories
Thus, in his address, Vladimir Zelensky recalled Junior Sergeant Alexander Ivantsov, who at the beginning of the war volunteered to take part in the most difficult operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
The President said that Alexander Ivantsov landed on Azovstal as part of a landing group. Subsequently, destroying the Russian invaders, he independently broke out of the encirclement, overcame more than 100 km of occupied territory, reached Ukraine and continued to defend it.
Zelensky also remembered the director of the Gostomel Lyceum, Vladimir Zakhlyupany. His son was killed by Russians during the occupation.
— But (Volodymyr Zakhlyupany) did not break down and continues to dedicate his life to hundreds of children — his students, pupils, the next generations of Ukrainians. They will definitely hear and know the stories of people who protect Ukraine, defend its Constitution, its independence, defend human life, — the president noted.
Vladimir Zelensky also spoke about Elena Stavytska from Sumy region, who, as part of the White Angels evacuation group, helps those affected by shelling, provides medical assistance, etc.
— This year alone, it is more than 1,000 Ukrainians, of whom 370 are children. And the youngest child who was saved is 6 days old, — the Ukrainian president said.
Zelensky also mentioned those who gave their lives for the country in his address on the Constitution Day of Ukraine.
— Among such heroes is Air Force Colonel Viktor Polivyany. During the military operations under his leadership in the Southern direction, almost 700 air targets were destroyed: aircraft, cruise missiles, Iskanders, almost 500 Shaheds and many other evils that flew to our land, flew at our people, — the president said.
He noted that such officers are a source of pride for Ukraine and every such loss is our pain.
