“We are waiting for the results before the end of the day”: the voting on the de-Russification of the streets continues in the KSCA/Collage of 24 channels

KCSA is voting for new names for the streets of the capital. The goal of the initiative is total de-Russification caused by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Now we are talking about finding new names for 296 objects – avenues, streets and squares. Deputy KSCA Petr Olenich told Channel 24 about this.

We have developed a digital tool for direct democracy, with which the people of Kiev and Ukrainians can speak out by choosing new names for streets, squares or avenues . – said the deputy of the Kyiv City State Administration.

The speaker added that the preparation of new names was carried out by an expert environment – linguists, historians and other scientists. Historical facts, customs and national traditions were taken into account.

How voting works

Voting is hosted on the Kyiv Digital platform. Not only citizens, but all Ukrainians can take part. The organizers offer to leave your vote using bank-ID. Voting is expected to continue until June 19.

According to preliminary information, many Ukrainians have already made their choice – more than 1 million people. Detailed results are expected to be received by the end of the current day. After the end of the voting, the experts intend to prepare statistical data on the regions.
