Aleksey Reznikov said that so far there is no real Russian offensive with tanks and artillery. However, according to the minister, it can still happen.
The minister also noted that Russia has been testing our defense on the front line near Bakhmut for 5 months. According to the official, our defense is good, though not perfect.
What the defense minister said about the Russian offensive
Aleksey Reznikov noted that Moscow uses the Wagner PPK to recruit prisoners from Russian prisons. According to the minister:
- we have not yet seen a genuine offensive, with tanks and artillery;
- and the Russians are showing potential in the South, and the offensive that everyone expects is still may happen.
However, the official assured us that our will to resist and our fighting spirit are unbreakable. Moreover, Ukraine plans to win this war.
Each side is ready to take the initiative, and we are waiting. We are ready for the Russian offensive and are preparing a counter-offensive,” Oleksiy Reznikov said.
He also said that Ukraine’s key goal in this war is:
- to win by liberating all temporarily occupied territories by freeing our people;
- bring the perpetrators to justice, who must face an international tribunal.
“We believe that, together with the entire civilized world, we can do this” , – assured the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
He also ended the conversation by recalling the biblical story of David and Goliath, which Zelensky recalled at the Munich Security Conference: “No one believed that David would defeat Goliath, but it happened thanks to that stone in the sling.”
Defense Minister Ukraine said that in our case, David, with the help of the weapons of our friends, will defeat Goliath.
