Great Britain held secret negotiations with Russia for 18 months. The country believes that maintaining diplomatic dialogue is important.

Key Kremlin representatives are reported to have taken part in the negotiations. Their names have not yet been revealed.

The meetings took place as part of behind-the-scenes diplomatic efforts. The diplomats met in Vienna and also in New York.

It was noted that discussions continued around:

• security issues;
• grain shortages;
• nuclear safety.

One of the diplomats participating in the negotiations emphasized that the negotiations are not aimed at a diplomatic resolution of the conflict.

We maintain contact and believe it is extremely important to maintain an open dialogue during the war in Ukraine… We We are under no circumstances dividing up parts of the country or entering into peace agreements, but it is vital to keep this line of contact open, it said.

Tony Radakin, Chief of the British Defense Staff, commented on the situation on the battlefield. He emphasized that Ukraine is already winning, and Russia is losing.

Radakin emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers are successfully liberating temporarily occupied territories. Meanwhile, the world community is putting economic and diplomatic pressure on Russia.
