We are far from parity, but we have seriously intimidated Russian planes – aviation expert

Ukraine should soon receive the first fourth-generation F-16 fighters. But it is too early to talk about achieving parity between Ukrainian and Russian aviation.

Despite this, our pilots have already seriously intimidated enemy aircraft. Aviation expert Valery Romanenko told Channel 24, what will change with the receipt of the F-16.

“Parity is still very far away. Not even on the horizon, but even further. We have another task – to block Russian aviation and not allow it to operate over the territories controlled by our Armed Forces. This task has been successfully carried out since May 2022, we have seriously intimidated them. In this matter, we are only improving the situation, driving away enemy aircraft further and further,” the aviation expert emphasized. < /p>

If earlier Russian pilots tried to attack Ukrainian cities with bombs, in particular Chernigov, Kharkov and Sumy, now enemy bombers are afraid to fly up to 30 kilometers from the line of combat contact. There has already been a case when the Defense Forces shot down 3 “drying aircraft” at low altitudes at once. The air force keeps the enemy at a distance from the territory controlled by our military. Only helicopters come closer.

After the downing of the A-50, the enemy laid out inspection routes for the territory of Ukraine over the Krasnodar Territory, and not over the Sea of Azov. Russian air command posts see flying targets at a distance of up to 300 kilometers, and objects on the ground – approximately 100 – 150 kilometers. Now this zone has been pushed back and the Russians can only see the near rear behind the front line of our territory.

That is, the main task is to prevent the actions of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which the Ukrainian military has successfully perform. And with the F-16, pilots will not just drive away enemy aircraft, but will destroy them. If Ukraine receives long-range missiles for fighters, we will be able to strike Russian aircraft in their rear at 20 – 30 kilometers.
