— Regarding drones, there will be more of our own production. Today we discussed everything related to orders, contracts and the full capabilities of our production. The priority is drones, interceptor drones and drones for long-range strikes. This is the front and everything that really holds back Russian assaults, Zelensky emphasized.
The President thanked all Ukrainian drone manufacturers who are working on new technologies.
“I am grateful to all Ukrainian drone manufacturers – each developer, everyone who is now trying to actively develop the interceptor direction. This is very important. Russia fits into the unmanned component, Russia plans to increase the number of drones in strikes against our state. We are preparing our counteraction,” Zelensky said.
In addition, the president spoke about a meeting with the German Foreign Minister and representatives of German defense companies, during which they discussed expanding weapons production directly in Ukraine.
“We are introducing joint production of weapons, modern models, here in Ukraine. One of the goals is to achieve systemic production of air defense, and this is a strategic task,” Zelensky emphasized.
He also stressed the importance of synchronizing sanctions against Russia. Separately, the president touched on the topic of energy and preparation for the heating season.
— We must provide Ukraine with everything it needs. This concerns not only the energy resource itself, but also the work of all our power engineers, many workers in the industry. Hundreds of thousands of our people do everything every day to ensure that Ukraine can live and that there are no blackouts, he noted.
