Ukrainian intelligence periodically produces a snapshot of social sentiment in Russia. They keep proving that Ukraine is not at war with Putin, but with the entire population of Russia.
Thus, according to the latest data, currently 82% of Russians absolutely support the fighting in Ukraine. Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, spoke about this in an interview with Orestocracy.
Even mobilization did not affect the Russians
This indicates that neither the sharp worsening of the economic situation, nor the partial “grave” are inactive for the Russians. They continue to want to conquer the Ukrainian people, and whoever does not obey, they want to destroy. And Putin is only a spokesman for their interests.
We are not at war with the Russian regime, as many people there think, but, unfortunately, with the Russian people, 82% are the majority, Kirill Budanov emphasized.
But the loss of the occupied territories and the realization of the factor that “perhaps our king is not so powerful” hit them. After all, it is with the figure of the leader that they associate Russia. The question arises in their minds whether Russia is really as powerful as propagandists portray it.
The impact of regular “clap”
Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko told Channel 24 that the inhabitants of Russian Belgorod, due to the regular “clap” in the region, are already gradually beginning to feel what war is. It is these “illustrative examples” that convey this understanding to the Russians. After all, they cannot draw truthful information from the TV – they usually keep silent about it or distort something that could influence the consciousness of the population in a way that is objectionable to the Kremlin.
So, for example, on Russian television they kept silent about the crash of a combat aircraft on a house in Yeysk and information about how in the Belgorod region military personnel shot a unit commander and several dozen military men on religious grounds for humiliating the faith.
The regular “clap” brings the understanding that hostilities are being transferred to their territory. This, together with mobilization, according to Vladimir Fesenko, increases the desire of the Russian society for negotiations, and not for the victorious end of the war and the capture of Kyiv. The level of anxiety among Russians is growing, and over the past month after the announcement of mobilization it has tripled.
“The Nazis and other ideological horror stories have already been forgotten once. They are already in favor of negotiations. Therefore, gradually, not as quickly as we like, the moods of Russians are changing, and this process will continue,” he stressed.
Moods among the population of Russia
- Russian oppositionist and political scientist Abbas Gallyamov believes that Russia can increase in protests. This, in particular, is expressed in the fact that in Russia military commissars begin to die suddenly or military registration and enlistment offices flare up. in about two weeks.
- Among the military of the aggressor country itself, there is panic, because they understand that the Russian military leadership does not value its soldiers.
