Channel 24 showed the tape “Mariupol. Unlost Hope”. Netizens were struck to the core by the film included in the series “And then the “brothers” came”, filmed by the Association of Ukrainian Producers.
Documentary “Mariupol. Unlost Hope” is based on the diaries of Mariupol journalist Nadezhda Sukhorukova. She recorded everything that happened around her from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The journalist noted that such terrible events should not happen in Ukraine at all. It's just it is impossible to imagine that in the 21st century one country will attack another. And its citizens will kill, rape and torture the civilian population of another.
The tape was shown to the audience on August 22, and it has already found a response among many. Someone saw himself in her and again returned to those moments when he was fleeing from the Russians. And someone was able to feel the whole hell that the residents of Mariupol have been experiencing since February 24.
I wanted to press pause
One of the netizens admitted that at first she wanted to press pause while watching. And all because she – the inhabitants of Kyiv – tears literally prevented her from seeing what the filmmakers showed.
But when she calmed down, she watched to the end … It hurts, it hurts a lot. We will win, we will definitely win. It can’t be otherwise,” she stressed.
Another user noted that she watched the tape in parts.Sometimes it seemed to her that it was all a dream, but no – we have a reality before us. She also stressed that the film based on the journalist's diary is very powerful.
Thank you for the film! It's hard to watch. Not looking is even harder. I love Ukraine. I pray for her. I know Ukraine will win! – added another spectator.
Another spectator stressed that the film “Mariupol. Unlost Hope” is impossible to watch without tears. The woman said that she was in pain, but she was convinced that Ukraine would be able to win.
“Girls, dear, it’s impossible to watch, because tears don’t give. How you could be there, it’s incomprehensible. Xenia, I admire you, please don’t give up,” another woman turned to one of the heroines of the film.
Another netizen says that it it hurt her to go through all this again. And all because on March 4 she got out of Kharkov, and then tried to get her children out of Mariupol. She succeeded only on March 24th. Now she is happy that her relatives are together, and that all this horror is behind.
“Frost on the skin all the time … and a feeling of guilt, living in a safer region and not having experienced even a hundredth of what these strong, beautiful people, Mariupol residents, have experienced! Forgive us, dear ones …”, wrote another spectator .
A resident of Kherson said that when watching her soul was literally torn. She noticed that all the pain that is shown in this film can only be experienced by those who were in the occupation.
