Lloyd Austin noted that the war in Ukraine will eventually end with the negotiation process. However, when this will happen is still difficult to plan.

What Austin said about possible negotiations

The Pentagon chief said that he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss various topics. However, he clarified that the conversation did not specifically touch on the victory plan that President Zelensky is expected to present to US President Joe Biden and other world leaders.

At the same time, Lloyd Austin noted that the war in Ukraine should eventually end with negotiations.

I think that in the end this conflict will be resolved at the negotiating table. However, when that moment will come is difficult to predict, he said.

Austin also stressed that the path to final victory depends on its definition.

“Ukraine is focused on protecting its own sovereign territory, and we will continue to do everything we can to help them do that,” the US Secretary of Defense noted.
