The war in Ukraine could escalate into a protracted conflict. And then the main thing is to keep maximum attention to it.

Tired of Ukraine

US President Joe Biden reacted to the phrase of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, warning the world against that there is a “risk of growing fatigue” around the war in Ukraine. Johnson cited other emerging global challenges as the reason for this, including inflation.

At the same time, Joe Biden said that he had no such concerns.

“I'm not afraid. But I believe that at some point it will be an endurance contest – that the Russians can withstand and that Europe will be ready to endure,” Joe Biden said.

The American president also said that he was not afraid of breaking the Western alliance because of Russia's war against Ukraine. But he warned of a protracted conflict and said he would discuss the way forward with allies, including Europe's willingness to endure over the war in Ukraine, at the NATO summit in Madrid.

Before his visit to Spain, Joe Biden will attend the G7 leaders' meetings, where the leaders of the world's leading countries will discuss a number of the most pressing global issues, including the topic of Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky was also invited to these G7 and NATO meetings. The 48th G7 summit is scheduled for June 26-28, 2022 at Elmau Castle in Germany. The NATO summit will take place in Madrid on June 29-30.

What Johnson said about “tired of Ukraine”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson unexpectedly arrived for the second time in Kyiv on June 17. In the capital, he met with Vladimir Zelensky.

The leaders of both countries discussed a number of important issues. Among them: the need to supply heavy weapons and air defense systems, financial and economic support, security guarantees for Ukraine; the need for Russia to compensate for the damage caused to our state.

Boris Johnson once again assured that his country will continue to provide weapons to our state and organize the training of the military for an effective fight.

Upon returning home, Boris Johnson during a conversation with reporters, he spoke about the importance of the UK continuing to demonstrate that it supports Ukraine in the long term. He also warned of the risk of “Ukraine fatigue” as the war drags on.

“When Ukraine fatigue sets in, it's very important to show that we're with them for the long term and we give them the strategic resilience that they need,โ€ said Boris Johnson.
