What Putin said in a telephone conversation with Vucic about Ukraine

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that he contacted Russian President Vladimir Putin by telephone to decline an invitation to the BRICS summit held in Kazan.

Vucic stressed the importance of communicating openly in such situations, saying that “this is what gentlemen do, this is what real men do,” even if the other side may expect a different reaction.

Then, according to the Serbian leader, he asked the Russian president about the situation in Ukraine.

Vucic reported that during his conversation with Putin he raised the issue of a ceasefire. However, as the Serbian President said, the Russian leader was not interested in this proposal.

All the goals of special military operations (the war in Ukraine – 24 Kanal), as he said, will be achieved, Putin responded, according to the Serbian President.

By the way, during the telephone conversation, Aleksandar Vucic thanked Putin for the supplies of Russian energy resources and repeated that his country would not change its position on sanctions.

At the same time, a few days later, the Serbian leader announced that his country would provide Ukraine with 8 million euros in aid. It concerns generators and transformers.
