After the introduction of the second stage of the oil embargo on February 5, which implies the EU's complete refusal to import Russian resources, nothing will happen on the light oil market , because everyone was preparing.
This opinion was expressed by Vladimir Petrenko, the founder and owner of the UPG group of companies, in an interview with Economic Truth.
“Large companies have built supply chains, filled their bases and have a transitional supply. So you and I will not feel the hype that was in Europe at the beginning of the war. Everything works and works well. So there will be no disruptions in supplies,” the businessman explained , answering the question whether the country faces a repeat of the fuel crisis.
He also noted that both European and Ukrainian companies are ready for changes.
In addition, Vladimir Petrenko noted that there is a decrease in prices on the domestic market of petroleum products and explained why this is connected.
“Last month, the Ukrainian market in the wholesale segment fell by three hryvnias, and in the retail segment – by one hryvnia. This is evidence that the market is oversaturated, very lively and even somewhat aggressive. Everyone is looking for where to sell the resource. For understanding: 50% of fuel is imported by small companies that have one or two fuel trucks. And everyone needs to sell. As a result, prices are collapsing,” the businessman said.
He recalled that today UPG receives products exclusively from European factories. These are the capacities of such manufacturers as Royal Dutch Shell, Total Energies SE, Neste Oyj, Hellenic Petroleum, Rompetrol, etc.

As for the range of fuel presented today at UPG filling stations, each car has its own type of fuel: regular 95th gasoline, where the octane number is 95, and upg95, where the octane number is up to 97 units, and 100 -th gasoline with an octane rating of more than 100, and winter diesel with a freezing point of minus 20, and arctic diesel with a freezing point of minus 36.According to Vladimir Petrenko, his company has ceased cooperation with aggressor countries and will not resume under no circumstances:
“We have terminated any relations with Belarus. Since February 24, 2022, we have found ourselves in a situation where in one day everything stopped for us: both normal life and business. I note that we have not been cooperating with the main aggressor since 2014, during this time not a single l and fuel.
