On Tuesday, May 3, the General Treasury of France decided to include the Friedman family's elite real estate in the list of “frozen” property.

As a result of the investigation, the Schemes journalists reported that the estate was registered with the French company SNC COPAB. The media have documents at their disposal, according to which the beneficiaries of the company in equal shares are the daughters of Mikhail Fridman, Larisa and Ekaterina Fridman. In particular, another 1 percent remains with the former wife of the oligarch Olga Aiziman.

The European Union imposes sanctions not only on economy, foreign assets of Russia, but also on individuals, which include the richest people of the aggressor country. In this regard, the French authorities decided to “freeze” Friedman's villa.

Sanctions against Fridman

Four days after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, on February 28, the EU imposed sanctions against Mikhail Fridman. He became one of the first oligarchs to be included in the sanctions list.
