Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova said on the air of the national telethon that she allowed his possible further exchange. At the same time, Ukraine will strictly comply with the laws, Channel 24 reports.
Our scenarios for the development of events can be completely different. You can change a person after the verdicts of the courts. Yes, it is technically possible,” she said.
At the same time, Venediktova immediately emphasized that she did not want to interfere in the exchange processes. After all, these issues are political and diplomatic.
“I want to remain in my competence as a prosecutor and talk about the objective things of criminal justice. Ukraine will move purely in the legal field under the standards of international humanitarian law,” Venediktova explained.

The Shishimarin Case
- Vadim Shishimarin became the first Russian military man convicted in Ukraine for atrocities against our people. The investigation established that he killed a 62-year-old resident of the Sumy region during the occupation. Our Armed Forces of Ukraine defeated the Russians and during the flight he committed a murder. Poitm was hiding with 4 other Russian military men. As a result, he surrendered to local residents, and he was handed over to law enforcement agencies.
- The trial of Vadim Shishimarin was public. Such was the desire of the accusers. The Russian military tried to justify his actions. Like, he didn't want to shoot the man. But the judges did not attach any significant importance to the occupant's words. Also life sentence invited the wife of the murdered husband. If not, the woman offered to exchange him for the defenders of Mariupol.
- Shishimarin is known to be 21 years old. He served as the commander of the tank “Kantemirovskaya division” of the Moscow region. The convict's relatives were indignant that he was being tried in Ukraine. Grandmother used to say that anything can happen in a war, even murder. He had debts in Russia.
