The streets of the city of Vasylkov, Kyiv region, will be named after the Heroes of Ukraine. We are talking about three patriots who gave their lives for a free state.
The relevant information was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The decision was made on September 6 at a session of the Vasylkiv city council of the 8th convocation.
Vasylkiv streets will be named after the Heroes of Ukraine
Three Vasylkiv streets will be named after the names of the Heroes of Ukraine who gave their lives for a free state:
- pilot Vyacheslav Yerko;
- pilot Oleksandr Brinzhaly;
- Volunteer, Euromaidan participant and public figure Dmitry Goncharenko.
One of the streets was renamed in honor of the legendary 40th tactical aviation brigade of the Air Force and it is called “Watchman of the Sky”.
In addition, the session considered the issue of providing a subvention to meet the needs of defense. The money will be used to restore military facilities, restore the vital activity and combat capability of military units.
Who were the Heroes of Ukraine
- Dmitry Goncharenko is from Vasylkov. He was a volunteer who delivered humanitarian cargo to the front lines in the ATO zone in the difficult summer of 2014. Unfortunately, due to an unfortunate coincidence, the volunteers ended up in Severodonetsk, which was temporarily occupied by the Russians. Dmitry was detained by the invaders at the bus station. He was tortured and shot a few days before the liberation of the city.
- Vyacheslav Yerko was a lieutenant colonel and commander of an aviation squadron of the 40th tactical aviation brigade. He became one of the first who went to fight with Russian aircraft on February 24. Then our pilots shot down 5 enemy planes, but for Vyacheslav it was the last battle.
- Alexander Brinzhal was a pilot of the 40th tactical aviation brigade. The major defended Kyiv and died a brave death in battle against 12 infidel aircraft.
