In the American city of San Antonio (Texas), they found a terrible find in one of the trucks. There were 46 dead people inside.
Both local law enforcement and the city council say the people in the truck were migrants.
The dead were discovered by a man who saw that the door of the truck was partially open. When he opened the door, he saw dead people.
Some people were alive
According to San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood, those found alive were hot to the touch and suffered from heat shock and exhaustion. A total of 16 people – 12 adults and four children – were hospitalized in the nearest medical facilities for further assistance.
There were no traces of water in the refrigerated container trailer and the air conditioner was not working. Officials said they hope those who were taken for treatment will recover.

The mayor of the city said that as of June 28, 46 deaths are known. They all probably had families and were just trying to find a better life.
“This is nothing short of a terrible human tragedy,” Mayor Ron Nirenberg said.
Local officials said that federal authorities are now investigating the case. Currently, 3 people are in custody, but it is not clear if they were involved in the incident.
Take note! Cross-border smuggling and human trafficking have been longstanding problems along the US-Mexico border, but the death of 46 people is a staggering loss of life.
A similar tragedy happened in Britain
Back in October 2019 Britain was stirred up by a terrible incident – the bodies of migrants were found in a truck near London. On the night of October 23, 39 dead bodies were found in a refrigerated trailer parked in the industrial area of Grace, Essex.
It is known that he arrived there by ferry from Belgium. Most likely, people did not survive during the illegal journey. Human rights activists and investigators suggest that the story may be related to human trafficking.
Among the dead could be Vietnamese citizens traveling with Chinese passports. It is assumed that about 100 people were supposed to go to Britain “for a new life” – they were all residents of the poorest areas of Vietnam.
