However, the fight was later rescheduled for July 19. All four key heavyweight belts will be at stake: Usyk holds the WBC, WBA and WBO titles, while the British boxer is the IBF champion.
Later, a promotional video was published for the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.
Oleksandr Usyk, the Ring's No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter, defeated Dubois by ninth-round knockout during their August 2023 meeting in Wroclaw, Poland. Controversy subsequently ensued after Londoner Dubois landed a low blow in the fifth round that he claimed was a legal body shot.
Following the fight, Usyk defeated Tyson Fury last year in Riyadh and cemented his position as the strongest heavyweight of his generation.
Thus, in May 2024, in the 9th round, Usyk put Fury on the floor with a barrage of 14 unanswered punches. This victory gave Usyk the undisputed heavyweight championship, but it was short-lived, as the Ukrainian subsequently gave up the IBF title to take on Fury in a rematch.
The IBF, which ordered Usyk to defend against Dubois, elevated him from interim title holder to recognized champion.
British boxer Dubois scored the biggest win of his career when he knocked out former unified champion Anthony Joshua in the fifth round at the London Stadium in September.
In order for Dubois to challenge Usyk to a rematch, he was supposed to face Joseph Parker in February in Riyadh, but Parker fell ill and the fight was cancelled.
