The Ukrainian military is actively using kamikaze drones to deliver targeted strikes against the invaders. One of these cases is a blow to a tent city and equipment of Russians on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Then three invaders were killed, and another 12 were injured. The Grad MLRS was also destroyed.

Which kamikaze drone was used in this case is not indicated. In all likelihood, the Switchblade, which is actively used by the Ukrainian military. Although our defenders receive from the US and Phoenix Ghost. The US promised to transfer the next batch of such drones on July 22. Along with them, the Ukrainian military will also receive four HIMARS missile systems.

What is special about the Phoenix Ghost

There is not so much information about the Phoenix Ghost. It is also not on the official website of Aevex Aerospace, which is the developer of this drone.

It is only known that this drone is designed to destroy targets – the warhead allows you to destroy medium-armored targets. One of its advantages is that it can stay in the air for about 6 hours (for example, Switchblade – up to 40 minutes), which greatly expands the possibilities of its use. At the same time, the Phoenix Ghost is capable of taking off vertically.

The development of the drone began even before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but based on how the Russians fought against the Ukrainians in the Donbass before that. Therefore, in all likelihood, the task of this drone is to attack counter-battery radars, UAV control points, artillery control vehicles, as well as the artillery systems themselves, as well as, of course, air defense systems.
