US Migration Services accused of sterilizing Hispanic women

by alex

A nurse from the clinic of the American Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced to the doctors of the service that they were performing surgery on Latin American women who entered the country and detained to remove the uterus – that is, sterilization, and often without their consent. This was reported by Business Insider.

Dawn Wooten has filed complaints with supervisory authorities – the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Inspector General. She said that the immigrant was sent to the gynecologist, who regularly opts for gastrectomy.

It is specified that in most cases we are talking about the same doctor. He also removed the ovaries of a number of other foreign women, and in one of the cases, the one that required removal was removed. ICE declined to comment on the story; possible checks have not yet been reported.

The policy of sterilizing representatives of an objectionable ethnic group was previously reported from China. There, according to human rights activists, they are trying to reduce childbearing among the Uighurs.
