According to media reports, the United States will supply Ukraine with weapons that can be used on the F-16. There are no details yet, but air-to-air missiles were also discussed.

Aviation expert and deputy director of the company producing electronic warfare equipment Anatoly Khrapchinsky told Channel about this, noting that the Americans have more opportunities to transfer weapons to the F-16 than the Europeans.

What weapons can Ukraine receive

As Khrapchinsky noted, Ukraine already operates some of the weapons that the Americans can transfer on its aircraft. There was also information that the States will transfer AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles. Some modifications of these missiles are capable of operating at a distance of 180 kilometers.

That is, we are talking about the fact that our F-16s will be able to hit Russian aircraft outside the zone of visual contact. In general, the F-16s will be able to operate both at air targets and at ground targets, – said Khrapchinsky.

Probably, the Air Force will continue to use Soviet aviation for work in the frontline zone at the initial stages. F-16 fighters will initially be involved in protecting airspace. Over time, they may well be used to destroy targets in the border or frontline zone.
