Departure is carried out from the Kadena airbase in Japan. This was reported on May 13 by the US Department of Defense, publishing the relevant photos.

Marines of the III Marine Expeditionary Force of the US Marine Corps are preparing pallets with non-lethal equipment necessary for the defense of Ukraine at the front, the agency said.

Lend-Lease for Ukraine: Brief

  • On May 9, Joe Biden signed the law on Lend-Lease for Ukraine. The first and last time such a decision was made was during World War II.
  • Lend-lease suggests a simpler mechanism for transferring military aid to Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky submits a request for the necessary weapons, the US President makes a decision and immediately sends aid to Ukraine.
  • Vladimir Zelensky thanked Joe Biden for signing the lend-lease law and assured that we would win again, like 77 years back.

Russia will soon feel lend-lease from the US

Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Rostislav Smirnov said that Russia will very soon understand what lend-lease is and will feel the full power of Western weapons in the hands of our defenders.

We will soon recapture everything our streets and cities,” the official assures.

“As for the timing of the receipt of weapons, it is still difficult to say. But I am convinced that it will be as fast as possible. It should be understood that even the delivery of weapons from America will take time,” says Rostislav Smirnov.

According to him, weapons will come in large quantities and it will be very diverse. There is no reason to worry, because we have a law on lend-lease, and yesterday the United States agreed to provide Ukraine with another tranche of assistance.

He added that, perhaps, aviation will also be transferred as part of the program.

Help to Ukraine from other allies

  • Estonia has provided about 230 million euro worth of weapons.
  • Soon, Finland will send Ukraine a new shipment of military equipment.
  • Slovakia donated its S-300 air defense systems.
