The US Treasury Department included eight Russians and immigrants from Russia on the sanctions lists. This is stated in a statement published on the agency's website.
Three of them are allegedly associated with businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, their names are Yevgeny Khodotov, Alexander Kuzin, Dmitry Syty. In addition, Elena Ivanova, Nadezhda Kuchumova and Vladislav Zanin, as well as a citizen of Finland Nikita Kovalevsky, fell under the sanctions. They are accused of interfering in the American elections: the Treasury claims that these are “Internet trolls”, allegedly guilty of creating a threat to cybersecurity.
Restrictive measures will also be introduced against seven organizations in Russia and Finland. Among them, for example, JSC “NPP PT” Okeanos “, a developer of equipment for underwater technical and oceanological work, and LLC” M-Finance “, which is allegedly associated with Prigozhin. The Ministry of Finance will also impose sanctions on the Finnish Acex OY, GCH Finland OY, Optima Freight OY and Unicum Trade OY. They are all located at the same address in a European country.
On September 30, the United States imposed further sanctions against two Russians, three companies, a yacht and three planes associated with the Internet Research Agency, the so-called troll factory, which was accused of interfering in the 2016 American elections. The creation of the organization is attributed to Prigozhin. The media billionaire is also called the master of PMC Wagner.
