US Defense Secretary Pete Gegset said the air strikes on Iranian nuclear sites were an “incredible and stunning success” that had effectively destroyed Iran's nuclear program.

At a briefing at the Pentagon, the head of the US Defense Department emphasized that we are talking about “focused, powerful and precise” actions carried out with high precision.
“Last night, pursuant to orders from President Trump, U.S. Central Command launched targeted strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities with the goal of destroying or significantly impairing the functioning of Iran's nuclear program,” Geghset said.
He stressed that the attack was aimed solely at the infrastructure of nuclear facilities, and not at military forces or civilians.

The mission involving B-2 strategic bombers was the longest since 2001 and was the first use of the massive penetrating MOP bomb, he said.
Gegset also quoted US President Donald Trump, noting: “The United States does not seek war, but we are prepared to act quickly and decisively if our people, allies, or national interests are threatened. Iran must listen carefully to the US President and understand that every word is an action.”
