The current President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will nominate her candidacy for a second five-year term, and she will be supported in the vote.
The corresponding decision was made by negotiators from the conservative European People's Party (EPP), Social Democrats and liberals in the EU.

So, in accordance with these agreements, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas will take over the post of chief diplomat of the European Union.
And the former head of the Portuguese government, António Costa, will be appointed to the post of President of the European Council.
Candidates for the top positions of the European Union must be approved at the EU summit, which will be held on Thursday, June 27.
In order for Ursula von der Leyen to become President of the European Commission again, the support of the European Parliament is also required. And its meeting will take place no earlier than mid-July.
