The Russian Federation is increasingly using unprepared military formations in offensive operations against Ukraine.
The British Ministry of Defense writes about this on X (formerly Twitter).
In particular, the Kremlin uses them despite the fact that they have no training, artillery or air support and are not trained. This makes them more vulnerable than regular army units.

One example is the Volunteer Corps, founded in 2023. It consists of more than 20 thousand reservists, mercenaries and former convicts.
The department noted that these forces serve in irregular units under unified command and control. And probably suffered more losses.
— These formations have likely suffered proportionately greater losses over the past nine months compared to Russian regular units, — writes the department.
Recall that analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War previously stated that Russia is sending understaffed reserve units to the front.
