Unmanned systems on the battlefield are already superior in effectiveness to classic types of weapons, including artillery.
This was stated by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Colonel Andriy Lebedenko during a conference within the framework of the Precision hackathon, dedicated to unmanned systems.
What technological shifts have occurred during the full-scale war
According to Lebedenko, significant technological shifts have occurred on the battlefield over the past almost three years.

He noted that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine sees this technological prospect. However, the main thing, according to Lebedenko, is to find effective solutions to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
At the same time, the Ukrainian army needs constant improvement of unmanned systems – machine vision, elements of artificial intelligence, swarms of drones and modern electronic warfare systems.
It is noted that the priority areas for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and weapons manufacturers are also technological. In particular, these are interceptors, artillery fire adjustment systems, counter-battery warfare, unmanned systems that are capable of effectively operating at operational and strategic depths.
Reforming unmanned systems: what is known
Among the next steps in reforming unmanned systems is the introduction of swarm strike tactics and the installation of friend-or-foe systems on unmanned vehicles that were previously used only in aviation.
Andrey Lebedenko said that now the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky has set the task of comprehensively using robotic systems and unmanned aerial vehicles on the battlefield. For example, replace the platoon strongpoint with technological systems when the personnel are outside the danger zone.
– We can have a technological advantage that will allow us to win, – summed up Andrey Lebedenko.
