University associate professor corrected Russian strikes on Kharkov – SBU

SBU counterintelligence officers detained a 49-year-old associate professor at one of the universities in Kharkov, who worked for the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (known as the GRU).

The university teacher was remotely recruited by Russian military intelligence after the full-scale invasion.

The traitor corrected Russian missile and artillery strikes on the military and critical infrastructure of Kharkov.

Among his main tasks was recording the consequences of attacks on one of the defense enterprises of the Kharkov region, which was repeatedly shelled.

In addition, the Russian agent tracked the movement routes of Ukrainian Armed Forces units and the locations of ammunition depots, and also monitored the activities of foreign volunteer organizations.

A GRU agent was detained in his own house in the regional center. During the searches, his mobile phone and computer equipment with evidence of cooperation with the aggressor were confiscated.

Based on the collected materials, the agent was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason committed under martial law), that is, he faces life imprisonment. He is now in custody.
